I was around the corner and hungry lol
Looked up restaurants in the area and saw that Ava's was near. I do not regret my decision to eat here.
Off the bat they had a Thai green tea, never have I seen this out here or back in Cali and let me tell you it was delicious.
I ordered the chicken vermicelli and it was amazing.
Tina the server was on top of her game and made the eating experience there very enjoyable.
I will definitely be back especially to try the Pho next time.
Ava's is a must try if you love Vietnamese -

Vegans: don't order the 225 Vegan
We returned for lunch expecting everything to be as wonderful and flavorful as before. The veggie egg rolls were good. No complaints. My husband loved his grilled steak/rice dish. I went with the 225 Vegan bowl expecting to be blown away by the flavor and beauty. Whoever said the Momma Vegan sauce was delicious obviously has no taste buds or they were paid. For 12.95 I had the blandest bowl of noodles/vegetables. The sauce added no flavor whatsoever. And if there was jicama and sweet potatoes, they were either hidden or absent. The tofu was okay. This dish is NOT WORTH more than any other meat dish, and they need to figure out the flavors, because this was just sad. I should have stuck with the lemongrass/tofu dishes. At least those are cheaper and have flavor.
When the waitress asked how it was, and I replied flavorless, her response was, "it's vegan". I guess in her mind vegan=boring, bland, overpriced, gross. I added the sauce that came with my husband's meal, a beautiful oil, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, ginger dressing: FULL OF FLAVOR!!! His pickled vegetables were amazing as well. Guess it sucks to be vegan. We get beige. Everyone else gets the rainbow. -

Great, flavorful pho. One of the best pho in baton rouge. Their rice plate with grilled pork aren't served as you would traditionally expect but it still tasted good. The grilled pork sandwich was also good. For the most part, most of their foods are good and very consistent.

We came in 15 mins before closing. They were so sweet to serve us and stay past their closing time. The pho and grilled pork vermicelli hit the spot! We appreciated their hospitality after being on the road for 9 hrs! Not only delicious food but great customer service!
